Atmospheric Conditions

6.1 Introduction

Atmospheric conditions can make for interesting images at any time of day, but at night can add to the already enigmatic feel of the scenes you are creating. Atmospheric conditions transform the world and provide an ever-changing canvas. If the atmospheric conditions change, and you return to an area you have photographed in the past, we guarantee it will be different and you will notice things you completely ignored before.

In this chapter we’ll give you some advice and tips on how to shoot atmospheric conditions and what type of elements to look for; we’ll also encourage you to keep your eyes open for changing conditions and to take advantage of them.
